Algerian-Thai upstart Nabil Anane is well aware of Nico Carrillo's monstrous knockout power ahead of their ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title showdown at ONE 170.

However, the Team Mehdi Zatout star believes he has the right plan in mind to counter 'King of the North's methodical firepower and claim the 26 pounds of gold that will be on the line inside the Impact Arena this Friday, January 24.

Speaking during the card's official pre-fight press conference yesterday, the 20-year-old vowed to tackle the problem head-on, though he didn't want to reveal anything about how he will do so.

Nabil Anane said:

"I know that Nico Carrillo has a lot of power, and [he's] very durable as well. But I did my training and how I deal with his power. You will just have to wait and see this Friday."

While he prefers to keep his route around the Scotsman's knockout power a mystery, it isn't too much of a surprise to what the No.5-ranked contender will bank on in this impending barnburner.

The young gun, who stands at 6-foot-4, has used his towering frame to blast his way onto a 5-0 winning streak in the world's largest martial arts organization after suffering a loss to two-sport, two-division ONE world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 in his debut.

Nabil Anane's reach advantage has allowed him to pick his battles and go in for the kill when he wants, and this will give him a significant trump card over the No.2-ranked fighter when they lock horns at ONE 170.

Nico Carrillo sees no issue overcoming Nabil Anane's height

Nico Carrillo, meanwhile, isn't fully sold on the theory that Nabil Anane's height will put him in danger.

Though it does mean that he will be forced to switch things up a little — Carrillo was meant to face Superlek for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the card — he is supremely confident that it will not affect the result on fight night.

He told ONE Championship previously:

"It's a slightly different approach given how tall he is, and his body type is very hard to replicate. But we've tried to get guys that match him as close as possible in order to prepare the best we can. Nonetheless, it will be the same outcome. A different fight, but the same result with me winning."

ONE 170 will be available to fight fans at watch.onefc.com this Friday, January 24.
