Algerian-Thai upstart Nabil Anane prefers not to push his luck when he takes to the circle at ONE 170 on Jan. 24.

The 20-year-old looks to fend off No. 2-ranked Nico Carrillo to gain the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world championship inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Knowing his foe's expertise in putting opponents to sleep, the Team Mehdi Zatout representative believes the ideal solution would be to beat him to the punch and close the contest early.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, the No.5-ranked contender said:

"Of course, if I can make it quick, I will make it quick. I won't take any risks. Him also. I know if he can make it quick, he'll make it quick, too."

However, if his plan hits a stumble, Nabil Anane admits that he'll have a tough road for the remainder of the contest:

"But if I can't, it will be a war for sure."

The Pattaya-based fighter doesn't have to look far for inspiration if he does need to dig deep, though.

Anane has racked up a five-match winning run in the world's largest martial arts organization, and he's displayed tremendous ability to hang with anyone standing across from him.

Equipped with a never-ending gas tank and knockout power, the youngster is out to secure the biggest win of his budding career to leave the Thai capital city with 26 pounds of gold.

On top of that, he will also a ticket to face divisional king Superlek Kiatmoo9 in a world title unification contest at ONE 172 in Japan.

Nabil Anane must not waste time against Nico Carrillo

The best way to ensure that he gets his hand raised on fight night is to slam his foot through the gas pedal and prevent Carrillo from finding his rhythm.

'King of the North' has used his knockout power, pressure, aggression, and pinpoint accuracy to sleep all four of his opponents under the ONE banner.

However, Nabil Anane's reach and height advantage could give him the upper hand to dictate the pace against the ever-brave Scottish warrior.

As long as he keeps Carrillo guessing and avoids his unforgiving combinations, the Algerian-Thai phenom could write his name into the history books at ONE 170.
