20-year-old Muay Thai phenom Nabil Anane of Thailand did what everyone thought he couldn't do last weekend.

The youngster came into his bantamweight Muay Thai showdown with no.3-ranked Felipe 'Demolition Man' Lobo, the massive underdog, and with heavy doubt coming from fans. But the Monkey D. Luffy fan delivered the goods.

Speaking to veteran ONE Championship broadcast analyst 'The Dragon' Mitch Chilson, Anane said it was all about his versatile fighting style, which he says he tailors to every opponent.

He said:

"So, I’ve told this since the first time - first time doesn’t count, I lost. But the second time when I fought Nakrob, I used a lot of punches because I knew punches would go well. Second fight, I fought with Muangthai, and he’s a Muay Khao fighter. So I fought with him Muay Femur style. Second fight, I didn’t fight like I did the first time. Third fight, I fought Muay Khao because Kulabdam was Muay Mat."

With the victory, Anane takes out a former ONE world title challenger and has likely entered the top five rankings.

He thanked fans for the support:

"One last thing (speaks in Thai). What I said is thank you so much to all of the fans. I’m here because of everyone. If nobody supported me, I wouldn’t be here. Everyone wants to watch me fight, and that’s why Mr. Chatri gave me the opportunity to fight here in ONE Championship. Thank you ONE Championship, thank you so much everyone from the bottom of my heart. I love all of you guys!"

Nabil Anane feels vindicated by taking out highly ranked Felipe Lobo: "I proved myself"

Six-foot phenom Nabil Anane believes many fans doubted his ability to take on a highly-ranked contender at such a young age and with his experience.

However, the 20-year-old is glad to have proven his detractors wrong.

"Yeah, many guys were surprised that I was fighting the guy ranked number three. Many people said I'm not on his level. I proved myself."

ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart took place live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday, August 3rd. Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action via replay on-demand on Amazon Prime Video.
