Nate Diaz has been one of the UFC's biggest stars and rose to fame after a shock win over the crowd-favorite Conor McGregor. Since then, every Nate Diaz fight has been a huge draw, and his final appearance was no less.
In his final fight, Diaz faced another fan favorite Tony Ferguson and won the contest via submission. He caught Ferguson, who dived in for a takedown, in a guillotine choke, wrapping him up in seconds and tapping him out.
In his post-fight octagon interview, Diaz announced that he would be going on a hiatus from the UFC. He didn't explicitly state that he was retiring, instead, he said:
"All I know is it's been a love-hate relationship between me and the UFC the whole time I been in this organization, but, at the end of the day, I love the UFC. Shoutout to Dana White, Hunter Campbell, and Lorenzo Fertitta for giving the platform for fighters like myself, and right now, I feel like I had the longest career in the UFC and I had the most successful one out of everybody. I outdid everybody on pay, I outdid everybody on surviving. I wanna take a minute from the UFC and show all these UFC fighters how to take over another sport."

Nate Diaz to box Jake Paul, fight to go down on August 5th
Given his octagon interview, many fans were sure that Nate Diaz would pursue megafights as they made the most financial sense. That belief was proven true when it was announced that Diaz would take part in a boxing match and face YouTuber-Boxer, Jake Paul.
Paul and Diaz will face each other in a bout scheduled for 8 rounds. They will fight at 185 lbs. Given the fact that a majority of Diaz's last fights have come at 170 lbs, he will be ceding the size advantage to Paul. Yet, his wealth of combat sports experience should come in handy against the influencer.
