Kron Gracie's performance at UFC 310 left a lot to be desired. Not only did he lose to Bryce Mitchell, the resulting knockout stemmed from his inability to abandon his bad habits. This has led to tremendous criticism, including from fellow Gracie and Nate and Nick Diaz's former head coach, Cesar Gracie.

During the fight, Kron had little to no offense on the feet. Due to the complete absence of reliable takedowns, he resorted to pulling guard as often as possible. This tactic drew sharp criticism from another vestige of the Gracie family's MMA legacy, with Cesar taking to X with a straightforward point.

"Never a good idea to pull guard in MMA like that. Never"

In round one, Kron's insistence on pulling guard led to extended control time for Mitchell, who outgrappled and neutralized him for almost the entire round. More of the same happened in round two, with the exception of various armbar and leg-triangle choke attempts from Kron.

However, by round three, Mitchell was wise to Kron's tactics. The moment the Gracie heir pulled guard again, Mitchell used the momentum to slam him on the mat, stunning him enough for his follow-up elbows to obliterate his foe on the mat. Limp and unconscious, Kron lost via knockout.

This has left the Brazilian jiu-jitsu prince on a three-fight losing streak, with an overall MMA record of 5-3. It's unimpressive, and with no signs of improvement or any desire to sharpen his tools by fighting more frequently and getting different looks, Kron may very well be on his way out.

This isn't the first time Kron Gracie's performances have been criticized

A year prior in his previous fight, Kron Gracie took on Charles Jourdain, authoring a widely criticized performance that had the likes of UFC commentator Joe Rogan referring to him as a time capsule from the 90s. He managed almost no strikes against Jourdain and lost the fight via unanimous decision.

He failed to impose his vaunted grappling and reverted to his usual tactic of guard-pulling, but to no success. It left many wondering about Gracie's ceiling as a fighter, which seems to have been confirmed as below UFC level after this event.
