"National security at stake" - Conor McGregor reacts as thousands of Dublin airport asylum applicants reportedly arrive without passport

Conor McGregor has once again commented on the immigration issues facing Ireland, following reports of the number of asylum applications that arrived at Dublin airport in 2023.

McGregor has been vocal about the issues in his home country in recent months and even suggested he may soon run for the role of Irish President. 'The Notorious' has regularly called for the government to tackle immigration as he believes it's directly linked to an increase in crime happening in the country.

While some fans have praised McGregor for speaking out in defence of Ireland, his comments have also gotten him into hot water with the law, as he was reportedly being investigated for citing violence with his posts on social media.

Despite facing an investigation, McGregor has continued to voice his opinion on X. In a now deleted post, the former UFC champ stated that Ireland's "national security" was being compromised by the latest immigration statistics.

"3285 people arrived to Dublin Airport without a valid identity document in 2023, representing nearly 70% of all asylum applications made at the airport."

McGregor responded:

"Ludicrous figures. National security at stake."

Michael Chandler plans to end Conor McGregor's career

Michael Chandler recently stated that he expects to finish Conor McGregor when the pair eventually face off later this year.

While nothing has been confirmed by the UFC, the Irishman took to social media on New Year's Day to announce his return. According to McGregor, he will be facing Chandler during the UFC's annual International Fight Week on June 29. 'The Notorious' also stated the bout would be at middleweight.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chandler responded to McGregor's video and stated that he expects to finish his opponent and end his career. He said:

"It’s going to be a big card, it’s going to be fun, and I finish Conor within the first two rounds and after that probably end his career. There’s just too much more than what people think about on the surface level. I want battlegrounds of epic proportions, I want to stand in the cage with that man, I want to break that man’s will, I want to break his jaw."
