Conor McGregor was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the fight between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree at UFC 307's main event. The Irishman used his social media fingers yet again to laud both the light heavyweights for presenting such an outstanding showdown. However, he also stayed true to his 'Notorious' character and deleted his post afterward.

Alex Pereira looked pretty much untouchable since his move to the light heavyweight division. His domination over former UFC champions had several fans thinking that he would make easy work of Rountree too.

But 'The War Horse' amazed McGregor and other UFC fans with his performance. He managed to land a few powerful strikes and stand against 'Poatan' till the ending seconds of the fourth round, earning himself a lot of respect from the MMA community.

Having delivered several such enthralling in-octagon encounters himself, McGregor labeled the Pereira vs. Rountree bout a "real" fight, warning UFC audiences not to settle for anything less than this standard. His now-deleted tweet read:

Conor McGregor wants to watch Alex Pereira fight at heavyweight

It seems as if Khalil Rountree impressed McGregor with his never-back-down spirit at the UFC 307 main event. However, the striking masterclass Pereira showcased earned well-deserved praise.

McGregor tweeted a video while enjoying the octagon interview after the fight where he chanted Pereira's signature word, "Chama" multiple times. He may have decided to delete it later, but @ChampRDS retweeted the video. It also showcased that 'The Notorious' wants the Brazilian to move up another weight class and lock horns with heavyweights now.

"Heavyweight. You call for heavyweight, NOW! Ah, leave it if he says drop down to middleweight. Don't lie to yourself. It [dropping to middleweight] was a heavy weight cut."
