Superlek Kiatmoo9 has managed to come out at the top of the food chain in the striking world, but he did not do it on his own.
The Thai superstar, who's challenging the two-sport world champion Jonathan Haggerty for his bantamweight Muay Thai belt at ONE 168: Denver this weekend, had received precious advice from those who walked before him.
And he took these advices into heart, as he shared what he received from the earlier generations of fighters to South China Morning Post in an interview ahead of his main event tilt this Friday, Sept. 6.

'The Kicking Machine' said:
"I think the best one is the advice that has been passed out from the older generations of Muay Thai fighters, the people who are older than me, they always say just put 100% in your training and never, ever underestimate your opponents, whoever they are."
He also added:
"I think that's something that I always keep in mind, keep myself grounded, and I feel like that's something you can adapt to every other situation."

Superlek gives stern warning to Jonathan Haggerty ahead of their clash at ONE 168
It is true that Superlek earned his moniker as 'The Kicking Machine' for his ability to cause mayhem with his legs, which also serve as his best weapons at hand.
However, the Thai superstar warned his next opponent Jonathan Haggerty that he is not only a strong kicker. In fact, he shared in the same interview that he also had some surprises in his arsenal for the British striker.
He said:
"I know 'The Kicking Machine' has always been my name, and people focus on my kicks, but I want to elaborate I'm not only good with my kicks. I feel like my elbows are probably better."
