Two titles will be on the line at UFC 284
The UFC has announced that the lightweight and interim featherweight championships will be at stake in their upcoming UFC 284 card being held in Perth, Australia.
The main event will be fought between the local boy and pound-for-pound king Alexander Volkanovski and newly crowned lightweight champ Islam Makhachev. The two cut a respectful promo after Makhachev's title victory over Charles Oliveira and agreed that the top pound-for-pound spot and lightweight belt would be on the line in their matchup.
Volkanovski's current belt, the featherweight title, will have its interim version up for grabs between two consistent performers at 145 pounds. No.2-ranked contender Yair Rodriguez gets a deserving crack at gold against Josh Emmett, who is on a six-fight win streak, in the co-main event of UFC 284.
