Video replay proposed for Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch
Boxing officials are proposing the use of video replay for the upcoming heavyweight rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk defeated Fury in a split decision back in May, becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion. Their highly anticipated rematch is scheduled for December 21 in Saudi Arabia.
The WBC is urging all involved organizations to recognize video replay with a proper protocol to prevent conflicting decisions.
Speaking to TalkSport, Sulaiman said:
"For the WBC it was in place but not for the others. We want it to be recognised by everyone involved with proper protocol and a proper system."
This isn't the only rule change proposed by the WBC. They're also advocating for six judges instead of the usual three for the rematch, although this suggestion was previously rejected.
