One of the UFC's more established welterweight fighters has predicted Nick Diaz might not ever fight again if he doesn't return to the cage in 2025. 'Nick Diaz struggles' has been a more widely searched thing than 'Nick Diaz next fight' as of late. This is especially in the wake of Diaz's UFC 310 withdrawal as well as the difficulties he seems to be going through in his personal life.
Diaz pulling out of that Vicente Luque bout for Saturday night was the second withdrawal from fighting that particular opponent with Luque now fighting Themba Gorimbo on Dec. 7. Someone who has previously fought Vicente Luque and an individual who has his fight lined up for UFC 310 is Michael Chiesa.
Speaking on a recent episode of Bowks Talking Bouts, Chiesa touched on several subjects ahead of his clash with Max Griffin in the coming days. When discussing all facets of Diaz's future as well as the spot Luque is in at UFC 310, Chiesa stated:
"It can be hard to prepare for a guy like Nick Diaz because he's got a certain style that's very specific. So now you get this totally different opponent in Themba Gorimbo who is going to probably implement a lot more wrestling than Nick would have. So Vicente has got to make a big pivot in his training camp but he's down at Kill Cliff FC."

"He's got great coaches. I'm sure they're going to make the proper adjustments and he'll be prepared to fight. But for Nick it's like as much as I'd like to see him back in the octagon, time is not on his side. He's against the clock at this point. So I just don't know if we'll see him fight next year. I mean if he doesn't fight next year, I don't see him fighting ever again."

Nick Diaz receives support from former UFC welterweight champion
Nick Diaz is getting support from many within the world of MMA and this includes a former kingpin at 170 pounds in the UFC. Kamaru Usman was speaking with Henry Cejudo on their Pound 4 Pound podcast with the two eventually touching on the recent Diaz situation.
The 41-year-old is someone that Usman indicated he wants to see get help. Kamaru Usman indicated that he wants Diaz to get the proper assistance and get back on track. Usman was specific about saying that while he would be curious to see Diaz return to competition, the idea of being ok is a general idea referring to just being on a good life path and is not hyper-focused on a return to the octagon.
The Stockton native has so many clamoring for him to get into a good place and that even includes former rival Jason Miller who Diaz infamously jumped during a post-fight brawl in Strikeforce years back.
