Nico Carrillo says he'd have been happy to go to town with his striking artillery if he didn't get the highlight-reel finish of Saemapetch Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 23.
The Scottish knockout machine racked up his fourth back-to-back knockout under the ONE Championship banner against the No.4-ranked contender in their bantamweight Muay Thai tussle inside the Lumpinee Stadium last Friday.
Unlike his past performances – that was nothing short of brilliant – 'King of the North' felt more at home this time around, even suggesting that he could have traded leather with the hard-hitting Thai for two additional rounds.

"Everything's been smooth sailing. The gameplan, everything was clicking, and I felt really fine in there as well. I could have fought five rounds. No problem," Nico Carrillo told the South China Morning Post in Bangkok, Thailand.
Still, there's no better statement for the top-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender to make than an early victory as he seeks to earn a shot at the coveted 26 pounds of gold that will be on the line when Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Haggerty meet at ONE 168: Denver.
The Scotsman has been growing impatient in his bid for the ONE world title, and perhaps after securing the 27th win of his career and the only US$50,000 performance bonus that was awarded at ONE Fight Night 23, his dream could turn into reality sooner rather than later.

Separately, the Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy man tipped his hat off to the passionate Thai crowd, who showed their love for him after yet another picture-perfect knockout inside the legendary venue.
On the reception he received, Nico Carrillo had this to say during the post-event press conference:
"That was the best reception I've ever had. Walking out there, I actually felt like I was in Scotland."
"And so I know there was a lot of Scottish people there, but even the Thai fans showed me so much love, and I am so appreciative of that."
