Nico Carrillo is a devastating striker

Nico Carrillo has proven himself to be a force of nature ever since he first stepped inside a ring with ONE Championship. The Scottish striker entered the promotion with lots of promise but what he has been able to accomplish in such a short time has been nothing short of remarkable.

If there's one thing that has defined his ascent to the top of the bantamweight Muay Thai division, it has been his ability to finish opponents. A combination of his devastating power, boxing skills and killer instinct have led to him stopping every single one of his opponents in ONE Championship.

Knockouts against the likes of Nong-O and Saemapetch have proven that he belongs at the elite level. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Carrillo also attributed this to one of the key differences that ONE brings to Muay Thai.

By putting the competitors in four ounce gloves, the Scot believes that he's playing to his strengths:

Nico Carrillo will look to put his power to good use at ONE 170

The power and finishing instinct of Nico Carrillo is what makes his next fight so exciting.

At ONE 170 on Jan. 20, he will challenge Superlek Kiatmoo9 for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship. The defending titleholder is one of the very best, if not the best, in the world and he's incredibly well-rounded.

If there's one area where Carrillo holds a clear advantage over him, it's the damage that he can do with his punches.

The challenger only needs to catch the champion once in order to put him in serious danger but 'The Kicking Machine' rarely makes mistakes.
