ONE Championship newcomer Nico Cornejo knows getting a win over teen phenom Adrian Lee will be much easier said than done.

In June, Lee made the most of his promotional debut, scoring a spectacular second-round submission victory over Italian standout Antonio Mammarella. Already itching to add another win to his resume, Lee returns to the Circle on Friday, September 6, for a scrap with Cornejo at ONE 168: Denver.

Having already spent ample time studying his opponent, Nico Cornejo recognizes that Adrian Lee has far more strengths than weaknesses, but that won't stop him from putting his best foot forward in his own promotional premiere.

Cornejo told ONE in a recent interview:

"I don’t see a lot that I can pick apart. I see a lot of his strengths. His striking ability is amazing."

'The Steel City Kid' goes into ONE 168: Denver with a perfect 7-0 record in his mixed martial arts career, including five wins as an amateur and back-to-back KOs as a pro.

Adrian Lee ready to carry on his family's legacy against Nico Cornejo

Lee, of course, comes from a long line of MMA talent, including two of the most prolific finishers in ONE Championship history—two-division king Christian Lee and former atomweight queen Angela Lee.

Adrian Lee hopes to keep that legacy alive as he makes his sophomore appearance on martial arts' biggest global stage.

"I describe my siblings and me as finishers, you know. We go in there with purpose, and we try to get it done as fast as possible."

Lee got off to a picture-perfect start in June. Will he be able to keep the momentum going as he takes on an all-new challenge, or will Nico Cornejo rise to the occasion and bring home a win as one of the biggest underdogs of the year?
