Alex Pereira is tied into a recent post that has gone viral and content creator Nina-Marie Daniele had her say on the matter. It all stemmed from a tweet posted by @LiamHealy16 during the pre-UFC arc in mixed martial arts for Pereira.
The former multi-division Glory kickboxing champion was impressing on the regional circuit but Healy stated how he would go insane if Pereira stepped into the UFC and started knocking everyone out with his vaunted left hook in a post that was dated Oct. 18, 2021.
Many sounded off in regards to this considering the present-day context of Pereira's left hook halting many formidable foes to speed run him into a hall-of-fame level career. One of the many commenting on the ESPN MMA Instagram post looking back at this tweet was popular UFC fighter interviewer Daniele, who said:
"If he touches your chin he sends you to Spain without the 'S'"

Alex Pereira's path of left hook devastation in the UFC
Alex Pereira generated his first two UFC wins with a flying knee and by way of a unanimous decision but his left hook has made its presence known in several UFC fights upon making his eventual debut in November 2021.
The 37-year-old scored a first-round knockout of eventual UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland with that devastating left hook in the first round of their UFC 276 showdown. Pereira would also claim the middleweight belt with his left hook as a notable tool within the torrent of strikes he landed on Israel Adesanya to capture the crown at UFC 281.
'Poatan' also utilized that widely feared left-hand strike to become the light heavyweight champion when he halted Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295. The left hook would also garner the Brazilian knockout artist his first UFC title defense against Jamahal Hill when he halted the former light heavyweight kingpin in round one of their UFC 300 bout.
The native of Sao Paulo state also finished Prochazka in their rematch with a head kick but the left hook was a big momentum shifter. The destructive punch dropped Prochazka hard at the end of round one with the dazed former light heavyweight champion being far more susceptible to strikes where Pereira would finish him early in the second stanza of their UFC 303 headliner in June.
The technique is widely admired by fans and thoroughly studied by fellow kickboxing standouts alike.
