The post caught the attention of Daniele, who wrote:
"Everyone loves Charles 👊🏼"
Oliveira last fought Michael Chandler at UFC 309 and won by unanimous decision after an entertaining five-rounder. The Brazilian's next opponent is yet to be determined, with rematches opposite Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan potentially on the cards this year.
Charles Oliveira calls out Islam Makhachev
Islam Makhachev got his hand raised at UFC 311 after submitting Renato Moicano in the first round via a D’Arce choke, claiming his 15th straight win and defending his belt four times, a new record at lightweight.
Charles Oliveira, who was also present cage-side at the Intuit Dome, called out Makhachev post-fight, saying:
"It was a great fight. He is the champion. He did what he had to do. But I’m next and he knows that. The lightweight champion is called Charles Olivera. I’m ready for that."
Check out Oliveira's comments below:
The Brazilian lost to the Dagestani at UFC 280 in 2023, with which Makhachev claimed the vacant lightweight strap. At UFC 294, they were all set to lock horns in a rematch. However, Oliveira suffered a cut during training, after which he had to withdraw from the bout and was replaced by Alexander Volkanovski.
