"No shame in this loss" - Fans react to Umar Nurmagomedov getting consoled by Khabib after undefeated streak is broken by Merab Dvalishvili

Khabib Nurmagomedov comforting Umar Nurmagomedov after his defeat has elicited a wide range of reactions from MMA fans worldwide. Many questioned Umar's performance, while others expressed their support.

It was a legendary night for the Nurmagomedov clan as three of their fighters featured on the first pay-per-view event of the year, UFC 311, which took place this past weekend at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. One of them was 'Young Eagle', who took on Merab Dvalishvili for the bantamweight title in the co-main event.

In the first two rounds, Nurmagomedov led the judges' scorecards thanks to his sharp strikes and ability to stuff the reigning champion's takedown attempts.

However, the tide shifted in the third round, when Dvalishvili demonstrated his boundless cardio, which became the deciding factor in the final 15 minutes. After five rounds of tremendous action, 'The Machine' was proclaimed the winner by unanimous decision, handing Nurmagomedov his first professional defeat.

Following the fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was in his cousin's corner, was seen consoling the 29-year-old inside the octagon.
