While Jon Jones has received significant praise for his destruction of all-time great heavyweight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 last weekend, he has also received recent praise for beating another heavyweight, and it's not Ciryl Gane. Instead, fans on Reddit decided to analyze Jones' first few MMA fights.

More specifically, they analyzed his pre-UFC fights and found that Jones had not only gone 6-0 in three months, but one of the opponents he had finished was none other than future UFC heavyweight Parker Porter, doing so in just 36 seconds of round one. Moreover, Porter was undefeated at 2-0 at the time.

Neither is a normal feat, and it quickly distinguished Jones as a special talent in the sport. Upon realizing that Jones and Porter had crossed paths at light heavyweight back in mid-2008, one fan joked that a rematch between the two is overdue, as they're now heavyweights.

"Jones vs Parker Porter 2 is the only fight which makes sense"

Another fan expressed astonishment over Jones' ability to finish Porter in 36 seconds.

"No way he finished prime Parker Porter in 36 seconds"

This was remarked by yet another comment in the thread.

"Doing Porter dirty with the singular "punch" instead of "punches" on his loss"

Others were jaw-dropped by Jones' activity level in 2008.

"7 fights in 2008 is nuts"

Even back in 2008, Jones showed glimpses of future heavyweight dominance, but opted to ply his trade at light heavyweight first, where he became the division's greatest-ever fighter, bar none. Now, however, fans are awaiting his bout with a new phenomenal up-and-comer in Tom Aspinall.

Jon Jones finished several future heavyweights with relative ease

Parker Porter isn't the only future heavyweight that Jon Jones made short work of at 205 pounds. Two notable ones are Ryan Bader and Brandon Vera, both of whom went on to become heavyweight champions, just not in the UFC. Bader currently reigns as the Bellator heavyweight champion.

Meanwhile, Vera is a former ONE heavyweight champion. Jones demolished Vera in round one, shattering his orbital bone with elbows in a vicious TKO. Bader managed to survive two rounds, but was submitted by a guillotine choke toward the end of round two.
