Following Bellator 288 on Saturday night, Patricio Pitbull has lashed out at the promotion for making his older brother Patricky Freire wait for "more than 5 hours" to be attended to. Notably, Patricky Freire suffered a nasty cut above his eye in the main event clash.
Freire captured the lightweight title with a win over Peter Queally last year but was unable to defend the strap in his first scheduled defense. The Brazilian has been a staple in the Bellator 155lbs division and is easily one of the promotion's greatest-ever fighters to step foot into the cage.
In a post on social media, Patricio Pitbull insisted that this isn't the first time Bellator has made fighters wait to receive medical help. He demanded that a team needs to be on hand at each event to immediately help the athletes:
"Illinois Commission don't serve for sh**! Not a single doctor [was] on-site to stitch my brother. We were sent to a hospital, treated like sh** for more than 5 hours, and still waiting! Bellator needs to have a medical team ready to do that on the events. Not the first time!"

Patricky saw his lightweight title get snatched away in dominant fashion when he came face-to-face with the surging prospect Usman Nurmagomedov. A close cousin of the legendary Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov, the 24-year-old became the first-ever Dagestani to acquire gold in Bellator.
The newly-crowned Bellator lightweight champion is a wizard on the ground like his predecessors. Moreover, he is an incredible striker with a number of unique kicks in his arsenal, similar to UFC bantamweight contender Umar Nurmagomedov.
Usman completely dominated the bout and earned a unanimous decision victory to extend his MMA record to an undefeated 16-0.
What's next for Patricio Pitbull?
After losing in the first round to A.J. McKee back in 2021, Patricio Pitbull took some time off from MMA. He returned nine months later to recapture his featherweight throne from the rising star.
Most recently, the Brazil native earned a decisive decision victory over the tough Adam Borics to defend his 145lbs title. He is now set to compete in the incredible Bellator x Rizin FF crossover event next month.
Pitbull will face fellow Brazilian Kleber Koike Erbst, an elite submission specialist who currently holds gold in his promotion. The two are set to collide in the co-headliner on December 31.
