Fans reacted to Colby Covington jokingly sparring with a social media influencer.
Over the past few years, Covington has gained a negative reputation in the MMA community for his never-ending trash talk. Some fans believe Covington's intentions are as shown, while others think he's playing a character to help promote himself as a fighter and capitalize on his success inside the Octagon.
Covington recently showed a different side of his personality by collaborating with Kaz Sawyer, an influencer with millions of followers on social media. They joined forces for a "sparring session" where 'Chaos' dominated before Sawyer jokingly was stretchered out due to the damage.
The video of Covington and Sawyer went viral on social media, leading to several popular Twitter accounts re-posting the skit. Fans took the comment section of 'Championship Rounds' and reacted, with many referencing Sean Strickland ruthlessly beating up Sneako:

What's next for Colby Covington under the UFC banner?
Colby Covington last fought in December 2023 when he suffered a unanimous decision loss against Leon Edwards for the UFC welterweight title. Following the disappointing performance, Covington called for a matchup against Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson, which is still possible for later this year.
Other potential opponents for Covington are number three-ranked Shavkat Rakhmonov, number five-ranked Jack Della Maddalena, number seven-ranked Ian Garry, and more.
At 36 years old, Covington is running out of time to become the undisputed welterweight champion, as he only held the interim throne. Luckily for him, he remains the number four-ranked fighter at 170 pounds, putting him one or two wins away from a title shot depending on who holds the title.
In the meantime, the UFC welterweight division will continue moving forward with Leon Edwards' latest title defense taking place next week. Edwards' upcoming title challenger for the UFC 304 main event is Belal Muhammad, who has been eagerly waiting for the opportunity since defeating Gilbert Burns in May 2023.
