Over a decade ago, Conor McGregor issued one of his most oft-remembered tweets, outlining his goals. He has since gone on to accomplish all but one of his objectives, and a recent Instagram post from an MMA page drew a somber reaction from Welsh UFC fighter Oban Elliott, who fights at welterweight.
The goals in question were two UFC championship belts, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, a UFC Hall of Fame plaque, and $25 million in his bank account. McGregor, a big believer in manifestation, achieved nearly all of the aforementioned goals.
"I just want two gold belts, a jiu-jitsu black belt, a Hall of Fame plaque and 25 million in the bank. Is that too much to ask? Gym time!!"

In 2016, McGregor accomplished one of his goals when he claimed UFC lightweight gold in a masterclass performance against Eddie Alvarez. As he also held the featherweight title at the time, McGregor's capture of the lightweight strap made him the first simultaneous two-division champion in the promotion's history.
In 2017, he took on the great Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a boxing match that earned him over $25 million. In 2023, he was awarded his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Only a UFC Hall of Fame induction is missing.

But for Elliott, who is trying to carve out his own legacy, it's just a reminder of how far McGregor has fallen.
"It's just so sad."
McGregor is 1-2 in his last three fights, and his last three victories are all against massively over-the-hill fighters who are no longer in the UFC. He also hasn't fought in three years and has had numerous brushes with the law, alongside rising instances of increasingly erratic behavior.
Conor McGregor's UFC return seems stuck in limbo
Numerous obstacles have prevented Conor McGregor from returning to the UFC. First, it was disagreements with USADA. However, following USADA's acrimonious split from the UFC, McGregor was expected to return to action, and his return was finally announced for UFC 303 against Michael Chandler.
Unfortunately, the Irishman fractured his toe and withdrew from the fight. Since then, there has been little to no news on his return bout, with the exception that it should take place in late 2025. But with McGregor's frequent partying and alleged substance abuse issues, many wonder if he will ever fight again.
