No. 1 ranked ONE strawweight contender Jarred Brooks is gearing up for the biggest fight of his MMA career against the division’s king Joshua Pacio at ONE 164.
The high-stakes affair will go down at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, on December 3.
Jarred Brooks, of course, is no stranger to exchanging blows with a Team Lakay fighter since he already beat one in his promotional debut at ONE: Next Gen III inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

On this day, November 26, a year ago, ‘The Monkey God’ put the entire ONE strawweight division on notice with a spectacular performance against the electric Lito Adiwang.
Following a successful stint in North America, where he recorded 16 wins in 19 matches, Brooks entered the circle with aspirations of gold.
The elite wrestler was thrown to the wolves right away against the wushu specialist, who already had seven victories and five finishes in the promotion.
The striker versus grappler tiff started off with a bang, as ‘Thunder Kid’ threw a wild hook and Brooks countered with a single-leg takedown.
The American imposed his dominance off the bat, controlling Adiwang on the ground and smashing him with some ferocious ground and pound.
The Filipino warrior valiantly tried to create separation by moving his hips, but Brooks was one step ahead each time and maintained the dominant position.
He even took Adiwang for a ride with one of his patented slams.
Near the end of the first canto, the resilient Filipino was finally able to escape Jarred Brooks’ grasp by wisely using the circle's fence.
‘Thunder Kid’ literally screamed and unleashed his full arsenal of kicks and punches to close out the round.
Jarred Brooks finishes Lito Adiwang in round 2
After convincingly winning the first five minutes of the match, it was clear that Brooks was gunning for a home run in round two.
The Mash Fight Team standout once again shot for a deep double-leg takedown.
Adiwang initially sprawled, but Brooks was simply too powerful and clamped on his legs to put him on his back. The Team Lakay star tried to stand up as he did in round one, but ‘The Monkey God’ did a lot of damage to his neck by cranking a guillotine.
Adiwang survived, but not for long.
Following a brief pause due to an accidental groin shot by Adiwang in the clinch, Brooks went straight for the kill.
He picked up the Filipino and sent him crashing to the mat with another thunderous slam.
The ‘Monkey God’ then worked his way to full mount and proceeded to strangle Adiwang with a suffocating arm-triangle choke.
Jarred Brooks methodically drove his shoulder to Adiwang’s neck and applied a frightening squeeze. ‘The Thunder Kid’ tried to hang on for dear life, but eventually succumbed to the pressure.
