Danny Kingad is looking to pull off one of the biggest wins of his career when he returns to action at ONE 169.

The experienced flyweight MMA contender knows that he will likely be the underdog in this matchup, but that doesn't phase him at this stage in his career.

Back in 2017, he challenged Adriano Moraes for the ONE flyweight world championship and came up short. The Filipino contender was submitted in the opening round, but now, seven years later, he has the chance to get revenge.

They will meet again at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Nov. 8, where Kingad believes that he can cause the upset.

In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, he referenced how Moraes has suffered an unexpected setback in the past during his trilogy of fights with Geje Eustaquio.

He will now look to do the same when colliding with the former flyweight world champion at one of the biggest events of the year:

"Geje and Adriano faced each other thrice, and I have the confidence that I can also replicate what Geje did."

A lot has changed for Danny Kingad and Adriano Moraes

The MMA math would show that when Danny Kingad and Adriano Moraes previously fought, the Brazilian was able to get his man out of there in the first round.

But, as we know with this sport, it's never that simple especially when you're looking at a rematch that is taking place seven years later.

Moraes has been through some tough battles in that time, including his trilogy of fights with Demetrious Johnson that pushed him to the limit.

Having made it to the finals of the ONE flyweight World Grand Prix in 2019, Kingad now hopes to finally reach the top spot in his division and to do that, he must get past his former foe.
