ONE CEO says Superbon walked right into Chingiz Allazov’s big shots

Superbon Singha Mawynn relinquished his ONE featherweight kickboxing world title after losing to Chingiz Allazov. ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong says the former champ was walking right into the Belarusian's power shots.

The Thai striker seemed unbeatable before running into Allazov at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video. Prior to that, Superbon had won his first three bouts inside the circle, including a head-kick finish of Giorgio Petrosyan.

After the dust settled, Chatri Sityodtong shared his thoughts on Allazov's upset victory with SCMP MMA, saying:

"And Superbon, I don’t know if you noticed, he moved to his left and the overhand right came. It was almost like, I can’t remember if it was Dan Henderson and [Michael] Bisping, that big overhand right punch and Bisping was walking right into it. Same kind of feeling, where he was moving into it and Chingiz, you know, threw it."

The newly crowned champ dropped his opponent three times, with the third being the end of the fight. Chingiz Allazov now owns a trio of knockout victories in his last four bouts, which includes a Grand Prix championship and now a world title.

Chingiz Allazov sends message to Superbon and his team

Despite the tension heading into their match, Allazov has nothing but respect for the former champ. With that, he delivered a message to his recent opponent in his post-fight interview, saying:

“I have something to say to Superbon and his team. I want to say that I have big respect for this guy. He really is one of the best kickboxers on the planet. I saw a lot of his fights, I have really big respect.”

The featherweight kickboxing champ added:

“I wish him the best and a speedy recovery, and yes, I knocked him out. But I wish him the best recovery. I wish him all the best in life. Thank you for the fight.”

Clearly, there's nothing but respect between these two world-class strikers. ONE Championship is widely considered to stand above other promotions with the respect that its fighters have for one another.
