ONE Championship asks fans who they think will become a world champion in 2023

ONE Championship has its fair share of legends and up-and-coming fighters, and 2023 could experience a seismic shift in the promotion’s world championship dynamic.

The organization is packed to the gills with talent across all of its disciplines, and it can be argued that some world titles could be changing hands this year.

ONE Championship recently posited the question on Twitter, asking its fans who on the roster could become first-time world champions in 2023.

“Who do YOU think will win a ONE World Title first in 2023?” ONE Championship posted.

A quartet of names immediately popped up in the comments section, and these were Roberto Soldic, Saygid Izagakhmaev, Fabricio Andrade, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida.

“Saygid dethrones [Christian] Lee,” one fan answered.

“Saygid Izagakhmaev for sure,” another one replied.

“Roberto Soldić,” one fan briefly answered.

Fabricio Andrade, though, is the one on the precipice of a world title when he faces John Lineker for the vacant ONE bantamweight world title at ONE Fight Night 7 on February 24 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. The world title rematch bout between Andrade and Lineker will be the second time that they will face each other. The two Brazilian knockout artists first met for the vacant world title at ONE on Prime Video 3 in October 2022.

The first meeting between the two rivals, however, ended in a disappointing no-contest after Andrade accidentally hit Lineker in the groin past the halfway point of the third round. Nonetheless, the rivals will have a chance to end all controversy in their rematch at ONE Fight Night 7, which will be streamed live and for free to Prime Video subscribers in North America.

ONE Championship asks fans who they want at ONE Fight Night 10

ONE Championship is steadily building up ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, its first on-site card in the United States, and it recently asked its fans who they wanted to be included in the historic event. The promotion made an engaging post on Instagram, and there were four names that appeared more than the others.

Submission grappling ace Faye Lynn Cherrier, WBC Muay Thai champion Ahmad Ibrahim, MMA up-and-comer Noufel El Kasri, and undefeated fighter Aaron Canarte.

Though ONE Fight Night 10 is already filling up with the biggest of matches, including the trilogy bout between ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes, the full card is yet to be announced.

ONE Fight Night 10 is set for May 5 at 1stBankCenter and will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
