Christian Lee delivered an unforgettable performance in the ONE on Prime Video 4 main event. Challenging Kiamrian Abbasov for the ONE welterweight world championship, ‘The Warrior’ survived early adversity and battled back to capture his second ONE world title. It was an inspiring display of heart and skill, the two things that Lee knew this fight would come down to.
Following the event, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong shared his thoughts on the incredible main event during his post-fight press conference interview:
“I mean, it was that close but what an incredible display of heart and stuff. But yeah, hats off, man. Two-division world champion. It's unbelievable.”
In the opening round, things looked grim for the lightweight world champion as he was stunned early by the power of Kiamrian Abbasov. Much like his sister, atomweight queen Angela Lee, did in her trilogy bout with Xiong Jing Nan, Christian Lee refused to give up. He weathered the storm until it appeared that Abbasov had gassed himself out, opening the door for ‘The Warrior’ to climb back into the matchup.

Lee’s time finally came in the fourth round when he was able to get an exhausted Abbasov to the ground and unloaded a series of strikes and elbows that simply could not be answered. With 40-seconds left in the round, the referee had seen enough, calling a stop to the action thus crowning a new welterweight world champion.

Christian Lee believes Saygid Izagakhmaev is his next logical challenger
With his win over Kiamrian Abbasov to become a two-division ONE world champion, Christian Lee has a plethora of options available to him. With two divisions at his disposal, ‘The Warrior’ could pick and choose where he goes, seeking the biggest fight possible along the way.
That next fight could very well be a return to lightweight against streaking Russian contender Saygid Izagakhmaev.
With Izagakhmaev’s destruction of Shinya Aoki at ONE 163 just hours after Christian Lee’s welterweight world title win, it would logically make him the next man in line for Lee. Becoming ONE welterweight champion could change things as Lee has expressed interest in fighting ONE newcomer Roberto Soldic should he get past his first test in undefeated Russian Murad Ramazanov at ONE on Prime Video 5 on December 2nd.
While a showdown with Izagakhmaev would make the most sense, but only time will tell if that is the route ONE Championship takes with its newest two-division titleholder. Who would you like to see Christian Lee fight next inside the Circle?
