ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong acknowledged that 2022 was undoubtedly a monumental year for ONE Championship.

It’s only fitting that the largest martial arts organization in the world end the calendar year in spectacular fashion with back-to-back blockbuster events in the Philippines.

For the first time since the start of the global pandemic, ONE Championship is finally returning to Manila to treat its loyal Filipino fanbase with some top-notch martial arts action.

It begins with the fifth installment of ONE’s partnership with Amazon Prime Video, which will emanate from the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday, December 2. Fans in North America can watch all the action live and for free on US primetime with an Amazon subscription.

ONE on Prime Video 5 will be headlined by a battle of undefeated world champions between Reinier de Ridder and Anatoly Malykhin for the ONE light heavyweight world title.

While that card is definitely stacked from top to bottom, the promotion’s showcase doesn’t stop there. ONE 164 kicks off just a few hours later, where at least five fighters from the Philippines will enter the Circle.

Leading the pack is Joshua Pacio, who will be putting his ONE strawweight world title on the line against dangerous challenger Jarred Brooks.

In a recent guesting on CNN Philippines’ Sports Desk, Chatri Sityodtong said the promotion made sure to pull out all the stops in its first event in the country since the pandemic hit:

“We also have Danny Kingad, we also have Eduard Folayang. We also have Geje Eustaquio, we also have Jenelyn Olsim. So we're bringing out all the big guns from the Philippines. And it's literally going to be the Philippines against the world. It's going to be an incredibly stacked card, of course.”

While the opponents for Kingad and Folayang have not yet been revealed, we may learn about it in the coming days, as both cards are expected to be filled with more fights.

In the meantime, two of Team Lakay’s bantamweight fighters will see action at an earlier date at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs Lee on November 18 (US Primetime).

Stephen Loman will be trading leather with former world champion Bibiano Fernandes, while Kevin Belingon takes on Kim Jae Woong. ONE 163: Akimoto vs Petchtanong also takes place a few hours later inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium as well.

Chatri Sityodtong is ‘fired up’ for Philippines vs. the world theme at ONE 164

Chatri Sityodtong has always admired the passionate Filipino fanbase each time ONE takes its act to Manila. Regardless of whether their compatriots win or lose, the fight-hungry audience always cheer their hearts out and showers the fighters with applause afterward.

In the same interview, the ONE executive bared his delight to once again see thousands of Filipinos fill up the Mall of Asia Arena. Chatri Sityodtong added:

“You know, I'm so fired up. We haven't been to the Philippines in a few years due to COVID. And we've come back with a spectacular card. Essentially, the theme is the Philippines versus the world.”
