Fabricio Andrade believes if Bibiano Fernandes can drop John Lineker, then there’s no reason why he can’t knock him out cold in their ONE bantamweight world title fight at ONE on Prime Video 3.
We all know that, in the end, ‘Hands of Stone’ was able to capture the bantamweight crown from Fernandes, delivering an especially brutal second-round knockout against the ONE Championship icon. However, it was not without adversity.
Fabricio Andrade believes that adversity is enough to show a hole in the game that he is more than ready to exploit.
During his appearance at the ONE on Prime Video 3 virtual press conference, Andrade took a dig at Lineker regarding his performance against ‘The Flash’, back in March.

“We all know Bibiano [Fernandes] is not a striker, he was able to knock Lineker down in their fight. Imagine what I’m going to do to him. Bibiano doesn’t have half the striking I have.”
Months after Lineker’s highlight-reel stoppage of Fernandes at ONE: Lights Out, ‘Wonder Boy’ delivered his own jaw-dropping knockout, defeating South Korean star Kwon Won Il just over a minute into their ONE 158 bout in June.
Andrade delivered a vicious body kick that immediately folded Kwon like a lawn chair, forcing the referee to step in and call for the stoppage.
With his fifth-straight win and third-straight knockout inside the circle, Andrade could no longer be denied a world title opportunity.
Fabricio Andrade calling for a fight with John Lineker since his 2020 debut
Fabricio Andrade has been hoping to get his hands on John Lineker since entering the promotion in 2020. More than two years and five fights later, ‘Wonder Boy’ will finally get his shot at ‘Hands of Stone’ and as fate would have it, the two will meet with ONE gold on the line.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Fabricio Andrade spoke about his desire to face his fellow Brazilian right out of the gate:
“I asked to fight the guy after my debut in ONE Championship in 2020 when I beat Mark Abelardo. I knew he was the guy in ONE Championship that [is] the best guy in this division and straight away, I wanted to fight him.”
Andrade also made it a point to double down on his prediction that he will deliver a first-round knockout in his first ONE Championship main event:
“Maybe the fans thought I was just trying to sell the fight when I said that I was going to finish him in the first round, but it is what I believe and it is what I’m gonna do."
