#3. Stamp Fairtex wants the winner of Janet Todd - Allycia Hellen Rodrigues world title unification
Stamp Fairtex once carried the ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world titles, and she wants nothing more than to reclaim the gold that once belonged to her.
At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, the Thai superstar got to see a bit of a preview if she does get in a match for one of the world titles she once held.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Stamp said that she wants to face the winner between Allycia Hellen Rodrigues and Janet Todd for the undisputed ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title this past weekend.
“I'm ready to meet either of them. Because my goal is to go back and win the Muay Thai belt if I get that opportunity.”
Rodrigues ultimately got the win over Todd via unanimous decision at the Singapore Indoor Stadium to capture undisputed gold.
There’s no official word yet on whether a match between Rodrigues and Stamp could materialize in the future.
#2. Ham Seo Hee willing to face anyone for world title if Angela Lee isn’t available
Ham Seo Hee knew that she’d be gunning for the ONE women’s atomweight world title, and ONE Fight Night 8 put her in a prime position for that.
The South Korean veteran scored a methodical unanimous decision win over Itsuki Hirata that bumped her ONE Championship record to 3-0.
Before Ham even took Itsuki on, she was already setting her sights on the women’s atomweight throne.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Ham said:
“If I can fight for the [world] title, anyone’s fine.”
There’s no word on when Angela Lee, the reigning ONE women’s atomweight world champion, will return. Nevertheless, Ham has positioned herself for a potential world title shot as early as her next match in the circle.
#1. Superlek knocks out Danial Williams, retains ONE flyweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 8
Superlek Kiatmoo9 showed the world why he’s among the best strikers of his generation.
Despite a sudden change to his ONE Fight Night 8 main event, Superlek operated like clockwork and knocked out Danial Williams to retain his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.
Superlek was supposed to face Rodtang in his first world title defense, but the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion had to pull out of the match due to injury.
Williams stepped in on short notice, but Superlek was ready for the Australian-Thai star.
Superlek was an unstoppable force in the third round, knocking Williams down twice, with the second marking the end of the fight. ‘The Kicking Machine’ proved he’s called as such when he tagged ‘Mini T’ with a stiff roundhouse kick for the fight’s first knockdown.
Mere seconds later and Superlek was at it again. Sensing that Williams was about to go, he let out a flurry of punches that forced the referee to call for a stop to the contest 1:55 into the third round.
In his post-fight interview with Mitch Chilson, Superlek said:
“So I was really pressured in the first round, I must admit that I studied Williams very little from his previous fight and I was pressured. But then I followed my corner, and I cornered him up, used more of my kicks and that’s how I did it.”
