The ultimate showdown between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes will finally take flight in a few weeks’ time and the fans are growing wild with anticipation. The two combatants are tied 1-1 in the series, which makes for an even more compelling championship fight.
Former ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes has already proved he has all the tools in his arsenal to beat Johnson in his own game, and he can do so again if he makes the right adjustments.
The same could be said about ‘Mighty Mouse’, but he has got one thing on his side that Moraes doesn’t have: momentum. In their second fight at ONE on Prime Video 1, the Washington native defeated Moraes with a perfectly timed right hook and followed it up with a devastating knee to the head to finish the job.
It’s going to be another closely contested matchup to be sure. So much so, that one mistake could determine the outcome of the fight.
ONE Fight Night 10 goes down on May 5 at 1stBank Center and is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Demetrious Johnson putting in the work with Henry Cejudo ahead of world title defense
Very few fighters have truly tested Demetrious Johnson’s all-around skillset. Therefore, he’s paired up again with former MMA rival ‘Triple C’ Henry Cejudo ahead of his world title defense against Adriano Moraes.
Cejudo is by far one of the most accomplished wrestlers in the world, so being able to tap into his brain again has become an indispensable asset.
Speaking to Low Kick MMA, Johnson said:
“I mean it’s always good to get a chance to train with Henry. We competed against each other two times. We know each other so well and each time we get back together and train, we kinda expose each other. Two different techniques and different pressures, different drilling.”
