After putting together an impressive string of victories, Gustavo Balart is excited for the opportunity to finally become a world champion.
Return to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, Aug. 2, 'El Gladiator' will step into the spotlight for a chance to become the ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion.
Standing in his way will be a man who knows a thing or two about capturing 26 pounds of gold on martial arts' biggest global stage — former titleholder and top-ranked Jarred Brooks.

Balart enters the bout riding a four-fight win streak, including victories over Ryuto Sawada, Yosuke Saruta, Alex Silva, and Hiroba Minowa.
During an appearance on SerEbro EnlosDeportes, the American Top Team product admitted to thinking it would take one more win to get a title shot.
Nonetheless, Balart is excited about the opportunity and plans to make the most of it. He said:
"After beating everyone, I thought I was going to face the second before facing the number one and the champion. But now, in this fight, I’m already fighting for the title. So I’m excited."
Jarred Brooks ready to become a two-time ONE world champion against Gustavo Balart
Meeting Gustavo Balart inside the Mecca of Muay Thai will be Jarred Brooks, who will be competing for the first time since surrendering the strawweight MMA title in Qatar following an unfortunate disqualification.
Less than a minute into his rematch with Joshua Pacio at ONE 166: Qatar, 'The Monkey God' lifted Pacio off the mat and inadvertently spiked him on the top of his head.
Though unintentional, it was an illegal maneuver that brought an end to the fight and awarded Pacio the victory via DQ.
With 'The Passion' currently out injured due to a separate incident, Brooks will get another shot to wrap a ONE world title around his waist against the streaking Cuban sensation.
