ONE Fight Night 27: Who won the $50,000 bonuses?

Combat sports fans were treated to an exciting card of martial arts action on Friday evening as the ONE Fight Night 27 card, which went down inside the packed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Nine bouts across MMA, Muay Thai, and submission grappling were featured at the event, and it was headlined by the featherweight MMA showdown between reigning divisional king Tang Kai and number five-ranked contender Akbar Abdullaev.

#1. Luke Lessei

Number five-ranked featherweight Muay Thai contender Luke Lessei is back in the win column with a spectacular victory against promotional debutant Cody Jerome in their catchweight Muay Thai fight with a first-round TKO finish.

'The Chef' used his vicious kicks to fold his Canadian opposition and score three knockdowns in the opening round of their match. This was his second victory under the world's largest martial arts organization since his debut in December 2023.

This superb performance by Lessei not only maintained his place in the upper echelon of the division's rankings but also earned him an additional $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

#2. Denice Zamboanga

Denice Zamboanga made history by becoming the first-ever Filipina MMA world champion after beating number four-rated divisional contender Alyona Rassohyna in their ONE interim atomweight MMA world title match with a second-round TKO finish.

'The Menace' successfully defended every submission attempt the Ukrainian MMA star has attempted and countered it with her savage striking skills. This also became her key to victory when she rained down a ferocious ground-and-pound to force the referee to stop the match.

ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong fittingly rewarded this ground-breaking achievement by Zamboanga with the coveted $50,000 performance bonus.
