Keito Yamakita secured a dominant unanimous decision victory against Brazilian veteran Alex Silva at ONE Fight Night 8 this Friday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Japanese star, who was making his ONE Championship debut, out-grappled Silva for much of the contest while making sure that he got the better of their exchanges on the feet.
Yamakita quickly took the fight to the ground in the opening seconds, immediately shooting for a takedown to take dominant position. Silva tried locking in a triangle choke, but it was too loose to cause any sort of trouble for Yamakita.
It was in the second round that the 26-year-old from Tokyo began throwing bombs that forced Silva to backpedal to the wall. Yamakita then tagged Silva with a couple of knees before trying to submit the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with a guillotine choke.

Sensing that he was on the short end of the match, Alex Silva began throwing hands at the start of the third. Yamakita, however, shot for another successful takedown and once again put the former ONE strawweight world champion on his back.
Though Silva managed to get back on his feet, Yamakita was far too quick for him.
Keito Yamakita clocked Silva with a big overhand right before taking the fight once more to the ground.
Not only did Yamakita capture a thrilling debut win, but he also bumped his overall professional record to a perfect 8-0.
