ONE Friday Fights 10 recap: Theptaksin secures unanimous decision win over Yodkritsada

Theptaksin Sor Sornsing announced his arrival at ONE Championship in the best way possible.

Closing out ONE Friday Fights 10 in hard-hitting fashion, Theptaksin secured a thrilling unanimous decision win over Yodkritsada Sor Sommai on Friday at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok.

Theptaksin and Yodkritsada immediately went at it in the opening bell, tagging each other with nasty elbows in the clinch.

The second round was more of the same, with both Thai strikers content in exchanging shots inside a tight pocket. Yodkritsada landed some early leg kicks but Theptaksin resorted to using his punches to deal some quick offense.

Theptaksin then pushed the tempo in the third round and pulled the bigger shots from his arsenal. The 25-year-old clocked Yodkritsada with several elbows at the start of the round before going in for a couple of flying knees midway through the third.

Continuing to pile on the pressure, Theptaksin ultimately caused a nasty cut on Yodkritsada’s forehead late into the fight.

In his post-fight interview with Gianni Subba, Theptaksin admitted that he wanted to use his elbow extensively throughout the 132-pound catchweight Muay Thai contest.

“Yes, using my elbows is one of my strategies, not only that I also prepared a lot of kicks.”
