ONE Friday Fights 11 recap: Superball vs Kongklai II

Superball Tded99 reasserted his mastery over Kongklai Annymuaythai with a dominant unanimous decision victory in their rematch at the main event of ONE Friday Fights 11 on March 31 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The pair previously exchanged leather in an amazing three-round war at ONE Friday Fights 5 back in February.

The Thai strikers picked up right where they left off and unloaded on one another as soon as the bell rang.

This time around, Kongklai got off to a fast start by landing body kicks and tested Superball’s defenses early on with his fast hands.

Superball, though, found his rhythm as the round went on, brilliantly closing the distance as he did in their first bout.

With a minute left in round 1, the 26-year-old connected on a textbook one-two, dropping Kongklai with a left hook that landed flush on his chin.

The Annymuaythai Gym product survived the standing count but was still on shaky legs heading into the second canto.

Superball found a home for his vicious lefts in the ensuing round and trapped his opponent near the ring ropes.

With nowhere to go, Kongklai got caught up in Superball’s clinch and once again hit the canvas after absorbing a brutal left hook in close quarters.

The 24-year-old showed the heart of a true warrior and kept fighting, but the Tded99 Gym standout smelled blood and kept swarming him from the clinch.

Knowing he was down 2-0 heading into round 3, Kongklai fought with a sense of urgency and found success with his punch combinations.

However, his efforts remained futile. Superball used his length to batter him with jabs and straights and sliced him up with elbows whenever he came too close.

Superball even connected on a nasty uppercut and front kick to the face as time expired, getting the nod from all three judges.

With the win, Superball improved his record to 72-19-1, while Kongklai dropped to 75-17-5.
