ONE Friday Fights 12: Petsukumvit vs Kongthoranee

Petsukumvit Boi Bangna moved to 3-0 in ONE Championship with a spectacular performance against Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 12 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on April 7.

The pivotal flyweight Muay Thai match headlined the 12-fight card, as Petsukumvit walked away with a hard-fought unanimous decision victory after three rounds.

It was a contrast of styles between the two compatriots, who were both eager to earn their tickets to the promotion’s marquee events.

Petsukumvit, who’s known for his constant pressure, marched forward as soon as the bell rang, while Kongthoranee used his signature counterattacks early on.

Kongthoranee set the tone with his chopping body kicks and clocked Petsukumvit with some sharp counters.

The 24-year-old phenom eventually bridged the gap before the end of the round and scored points in the clinch.

It was a phone-booth match to start round two, as the An Sukhumvit standout found his groove by landing damaging elbows and knees.

Kongthoranee still picked his shots with well-timed counters, but Petsukumvit ate everything he threw and continued his forward rush.

Petsukumvit blew the match wide open in round 3 by cornering Kongthoranee near the ring ropes. He unleashed a brutal punch combination that dropped his opponent to one knee.

The Thai firecracker poured it on as time expired and took home his third straight win in ONE’s weekly events.

Petsukumvit added Kongthoranee to his list of victims in ONE Championship, alongside Chorfah Tor.Sangtiennoi and Petchmuangsri Tded99.
