Alexey Balyko produced his first knockout on the global stage of ONE Championship at the promotion’s opening show of its 2024 campaign, ONE Friday Fights 47, inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 12.

The Russian fighter had to be at his very best throughout the 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai duel at ONE Friday Fights 47, as he went up against three-division Lumpinee Boxing Stadium world champion Suakim Sor Jor Thongprajin in the night’s headline attraction.

Despite that added pressure, the Tiger Muay Thai affiliate did not crumble one bit. From the start, he went headhunting and alternated with body shots to control the pace of the war inside the iconic venue in the Thai capital.

He diligently worked his way into Suakim’s guard, throwing several rights and left over and over again until the opening stanza came to an end.

Balyko looked like a man on a mission as round two of their ONE Friday Fights 47 contest got underway, and he caught his opposite number with a left hook for the fight’s first knockdown.

Though he had some success, Suakim quickly evened things on the scorecard with an eight-count of his own.

With a knockdown apiece, the fight was there for the taking for both competitors in round three. But it was Balyko who took advantage and caught the Thai with a sneaky left hook to end proceedings at 22 seconds of the frame.

The victory at ONE Friday Fights 47 improved the Russian's slate to 22-9. It was his second successive win on the show after his unanimous decision win over Yod-IQ in September last year. As for Suakim, his resume now stands at 149-60.
