ONE Friday Fights 78 results and recap: Fabio Reis' left hook flattens Pakorn in round two

Fabio Reis kept his impressive 100 percent finishing rate intact with a sensational finish of Pakorn PK Saenchai in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 78 on September 6.

The Portuguese striker headed into this bantamweight Muay Thai showdown with a massive chip on his shoulder after dropping three successive matches inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. But he turned back the clock in some fashion and reminded the watching world that he is here to stay.

First, 'Sensational' had to deal with Pakorn's immense pressure. The Thai got into the groove of things right off the bat, mixing his targets and unloading with knees, low kicks, and pummeling body shots. Reis didn't throw any caution in the wind, though.

Despite being pushed under immense pressure, the Team Mehdi Zatout representative stayed active with his snappy left jabs and hooks while occasionally throwing kicks at his foe's legs and midsection.

Reis attempted to turn the match on its head in the second round. While enjoying early success via his left fist and attacks downstairs, a left elbow and a hook inside the clinch from Pakorn nearly sent him to the mat.

With his foe looking almost down and out, the PK Saenchai athlete upped his aggression meter, sticking punches in bunches down the pipe, which forced Reis to backpedal.

However, just as Pakorn shifted a gear down to recalibrate, Reis hopped in with a stinging left hook to the body that left the Thai striker curled up on the canvas at 2:04 of the stanza.

Reis' third knockout victory on ONE Friday Fights upped his overall slate to 23-9.
