ONE Friday Fights 81 results: Nabil Anane vs. Soe Lin Oo

Two of ONE Championship’s most exciting blue-chip prospects stepped into the ring at ONE Friday Fights 81. The 6-foot-4 phenom Nabil Anane returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok for a clash with Lethwei veteran Soe Lin Oo.

After coming up short in his promotional debut against 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9, Anane has won four straight on martial arts’ biggest global stage, including highlight-reel KOs against Nakrob Fairtex and Kulabdam.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old scraper out of Myanmar has been smashing his way through the competition in ONE, earning knockouts against Masayoshi Tsuhashi, Fabio Reis, and Pongsiri PK Saenchai.

Round 1: Anane comes out looking to use his range early with a couple of calf kicks followed by a high kick that lands. His dance partner, 'Man of Steel' moves in and attempts to close the distance, but quickly ties up and gets separated by the referee.

The Burmese slugger pushes forward again and eats a knee up the middle, then another. He uncorks a vicious right hand, which unfortunately misses the mark. Anane starts to mix up his striking and thus far, Soe has had no response.

Nabil Anane pumps out a jab and follows it up with a lead leg attack and a knee to the body. Soe again lunges in, but all he can do inside is tie up. Separating, Anane lands a thudding left uppercut to the body that Soe acknowledges just before the first-round bell sounds.

Round 2: Soe comes rushing out for the second round, but Anane immediately makes him pay with a combination punctuated by an inside elbow that stumbles Soe. Still, the Burmese striker keeps pushing forward and continues to eat everything being thrown his way.

Anane partially lands with and knee to the head. The Algerian-Thai is putting his height and reach advantage to good use, firing away for fun with four more knees to the head and torso.

Nabil Anane lands a jab-low kick combination before promptly going back to the knee attack up the middle. Soe Lin Oo finally fires back, landing a leg kick of his own. Soe is looking to land a big right hand, but Anane's dynamite jab is shutting him down. The round ends with Anane clearly in control.

Round 3: Soe wastes no time wading forward, but is met with a couple of front kicks from Anane. Another powerful front kick sends Soe flying across the ring and off his feet. Anane is bouncing around and clearly having fun inside the ring as Soe’s striking has been completely stifled with 90 seconds left to go in the fight.

Nabil Anane goes up top with a head kick. Soe shakes it off and stands his ground, but he can’t get close enough to land anything substantial. Anane throws a stiff leg kick that takes Soe off his feet once again.

With time winding down, Anane is content to manage the distance with his leg and jab, riding out the final seconds and ensuring his unbeaten streak will move to five in a row.

So Lin Oo has now lost his first fight since signing with the promotion, snapping a three-fight win streak.
