ONE Friday Fights 81: Sam-A returns against Akram Hamidi in strawweight Muay Thai tiff on September 27

One of the most legendary figures ever to grace the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will return home at ONE Friday Fights 81.

On September 27, live in Asian Primetime, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao will lace up the four-ounce gloves anew against the upset-seeking Akran Hamidi in what is turning out to be one of the most stacked Friday Fights cards in history.

Sam-A is no doubt one of the most respected figures in 'The Art of Eight Limbs'.

Before becoming a two-sport strawweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion in the ONE banner, the Thai icon was a two-division Lumpinee champion.

Sam-A wreaked havoc in the world's largest martial arts organization, using his trademark aggression to overwhelm his adversaries.

After a brief hiatus, the 40-year-old legend triumphantly returned last year with a beautiful second-round mauling of Ryan Sheehan at ONE Friday Fights 9.

Although he would fall short in his title fight against now two-sport king Prajanchai PK Saenchai, it's clear Sam-A has plenty left in the tank.

Across the ring from the Thai royalty will be Hamidi, who has quietly been climbing up the strawweight Muay Thai ranks.

'La Pepite' has gone 2-1 in the home of martial arts, with his lone setback coming at the hands of Prajanchai.

The Algerian is a proven finisher, with impressive stoppage victories over Thai strikers Jomhod and Kongchai.
