ONE Friday Fights 91 results and recap: Komawut upsets Alexey Balyko, Freddie Haggerty smashes past Kaoklai

ONE Championship got another electric night of martial arts action out of the way with its latest ONE Friday Fights showcase inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 13.

The main event saw Thai star Komawut FA Group put on his best performance to date, decisively beating a game Alexey Balyko for his second consecutive triumph in the promotion.

Komawut immediately took control of their 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai battle, throwing rounds of kicks that slowed down Balyko's smooth footwork.

He continued finding more success with the same tool as the round progressed, but the Russian fighter, who returned following a loss to John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 25, stuck in solid combinations to try and even out the action.

Despite having his usual power, Balyko was still in the clutches of the FA Group man in the second round of their ONE Friday Fights 91 joust.

The Thai striking dynamo closed the distance behind his kicking game and exploded with knees and elbows in the clinch. The same continued as the match progressed into its final round.

With the Tiger Muay Thai Man having had his legs tenderized by Komawut's fierce kicking game, the latter got down to business with jabs, straights, and hooks to take home a well-deserved unanimous decision win.

Earlier in the night, Freddie Haggerty, younger brother to ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty, bagged his third successive highlight-reel win in ONE Friday Fights.

The British star refused to pick up the bait to Kaoklai's usual antics. He stayed composed and rocked the Thai thrice — twice in the second round and once in the third to seal the deal.

Other stars who picked up all-important triumphs inside the Mecca of Muay Thai this week were Petsansab Sor Jaruwan, Sonrak Fairtex, Yodsinlapa Rodsuayjajed, and Nongfahsai TOP PK Saenchai.
