Regian Eersel made history last weekend at ONE on Prime Video 3. 'The Immortal' beat Sinsamut Klinmee to claim the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title while still holding the promotion's lightweight kickboxing belt.
With the win, Eersel became just the fourth concurrent two-sport world champion in ONE Championship. Such an incredible feat has only been achieved by Stamp Fairtex, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, and Janet Todd in the past.
The fight was a hotly-contested thriller that lasted the full five rounds. Both warriors went after each other without allowing any room for rest. In the end, Eersel edged out Klinmee in a razor-close Muay Thai bout.

Now that he's firmly sitting amongst the very best in the world today, the Surinamese-Dutch striker is not looking to stop any time soon. In his post-fight interview, Regian Eersel expressed his desire to return to the Circle once again:
"I think I have a little bit of injury on my knuckle. But I will see how that goes. And maybe you'll see me in December."
How crazy confident is Regian Eersel that he'd plan to fight again in two months while thinking he might have an injured knuckle? That's a legendary championship mindset. We almost feel bad for the next opponent he fights.
Regian Eersel achieves double-champ status by edging out Sinsamut Klinmee in a 5-round Muay Thai war
Regian Eersel continued his relentless assault on ONE Super Series' lightweight ranks as he beat Sinsamut Klinmee via a close split decision for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title at ONE on Prime Video 3.
Eersel is now amongst the elite ONE Super Series world champions who have held belts in both kickboxing and Muay Thai simultaneously.
Rounds 1 through 4 resembled a highly volatile and violent chess match. Both fighters were methodical in their attacks but never let go of the gas pedal, resulting in a very close first four rounds.
By the fifth and final round, Eersel started pouring in haymakers and fight-ending combinations. A bloodied Klinmee tried to answer back as much as he could, but the round - and the fight - definitely belonged to ‘The Immortal’.
The historic win marked the 8th win in Eersel’s undefeated run in ONE Championship, making him one of the best pound-for-pound strikers in the promotion.
