Who is Dustin Poirier fighting in his retirement bout?
After bringing up retirement before every fight for the last two years, Dustin Poirier seemed to be much closer to hanging up his gloves after losing to Islam Makhachev at UFC 302. The lightweight said he would mull the decision over with his family and later declared on social media that he would fight one more time before retiring for good.
Since the tweet, fans have speculated on who Poirier's final bout would be against considering his history with many other top lightweight veterans. In his latest tweet, Poirier responded to a fan suggesting he fight old rival Nate Diaz, saying he would be "down" for the matchup.
Following his third undisputed title fight loss to Makhachev in June, Poirier has not been clear on when he plans to make his final walk to the Octagon.
