“One more super fight” - Marat Grigorian says his endless pursuit of ONE gold continues after destroying Abdelali Zahidi

Marat Grigorian won't stop until he captures 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold. Grigorian took another big step toward accomplishing that goal at the promotion's final event of 2024 — ONE Friday Fights 92 — on Dec. 20.

Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Grigorian delivered another dominant showing against Moroccan standout Abdelali Zahidi and walked away with a highlight-reel knockout in the second round.

With the win, Grigorian re-affirmed his spot as the second-ranked contender in the ONE featherweight kickboxing division and believes he could be one big win away from another title opportunity.

As for who his next fight could come against, the Armenian knockout artist has no idea, though he does like the sound of another potential super fight.

"Who'd I fight? I don't know because I've fought all the opponents already," Grigorian said during the ONE Friday Fights 92 post-fight press conference. "I think now it's time again for one more super fight, and after, for the belt again."

Has Marat Grigorian done enough to get another shot at a ONE world title?

Marat Grigorian has competed for the ONE featherweight kickboxing world championship on three separate occasions, his most recent shot against longtime rival Superbon being for the interim crown at ONE Friday Fights 58 in April.

Grigorian came up short on all three scorecards that night — just as he did against Superbon at the promotion's 10th-anniversary showcase in March 2022.

He has since challenged reigning titleholder Chingiz Allazov at ONE Fight Night 13. Though he offered up a valiant effort, 'Chingiz' walked away with his title intact following an impressive five-round performance inside the Mecca of Muay Thai.

Closing out his 2024 with a vicious knockout of Abdelali Zahidi, is it time for Grigorian to get another shot at the title that has eluded him thus far, or does the Armenian have a little more work to do before getting a fourth crack at gold?
