Many professional fighters go through their careers without ever fighting for a world championship, and ONE bantamweight Muay Thai standout Nabil Anane fully understands the situation that he is currently in.
Happening at ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, the towering Algerian-Thai will go toe-to-toe with fellow Muay Thai blue-chipper Nico Carrillo over the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.
Speaking exclusively with ONE, the Team Mehdi Zatout affiliate shared:
"If I can bring this belt home, I'm going to be one of the youngest champions in the world. And this is a big, big honor for me, for everyone. Not only me, but also my family, my friends, and my brothers."

Anane was immediately thrown into the fire in his June 2023 promotional debut when he fought ONE flyweight kickboxing and bantamweight Muay Thai king Superlek Kiatmoo9, who spoiled his coming-out party with a first-round knockout.
However, the 20-year-old used the defeat as motivation and produced a five-fight winning streak with two finishes along the way. His most recent win was a unanimous decision outing against Soe Lin Oo in September.
Meanwhile, Carrillo has logged four finishes in as many appearances under the ONE banner, leading to him being recognized as the second-ranked athlete in the 145-pound Muay Thai division.
Nico Carrillo fires verbal jab at Nabil Anane ahead of ONE 170
Nico Carrillo holds most of his opponents in high regard but believes that Nabil Anane would not be where he is if not for his massive height advantage.
Speaking with ONE, 'King of the North' said:
"He's good but I don't think he'd be as good as he is if he didn't have his height advantage. Nonetheless, he is good. I don't really have a bad thing to say about him."
ONE 170 will occur inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand. The event is available via watch.onefc.com.
