2024 proved to be a landmark year for Superlek Kiatmoo9, culminating in his recognition as ONE Championship's Muay Thai and Kickboxing Fighter of the Year.

The announcement was met with widespread approval, with fans taking to social media to shower ‘The Kicking Machine’ with praise:

“Our champ-champ.”

“Correct choice.”
“He’s one of the best on the plane right nowt.”
“Great choice. He had a great year.”
“He is always fire.”

It was a well-earned accolade for Superlek, who began the year with a hard-fought decision victory over Takeru Segawa at ONE 165 in January to successfully defend his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title.

However, it was his stunning performance at ONE 168 eight months later that truly cemented his place as the promotion’s top striker of 2024. Just 49 seconds into his bout against Jonathan Haggerty, Superlek delivered a breathtaking knockout that left fans and pundits in awe.

As Haggerty lunged with a right hand, Superlek exhibited perfect timing, slipping under the punch and landing a brutal elbow that sent Haggerty crashing to the canvas. Despite the British fighter’s best efforts to recover, he couldn’t make it to his feet before the referee’s 10-count.

This emphatic finish not only earned Superlek the win but also reinforced his position as a two-sport king, holding both the ONE flyweight kickboxing and bantamweight Muay Thai world championships.

Superlek to face winner of Nico Carrillo-Nabil Anane interim title fight

Superlek was initially slated to put his bantamweight Muay Thai crown at stake against Nico Carrillo in the co-main event at ONE 170, scheduled for January 24 at Bangkok's Impact Arena.

Unfortunately, a knee injury sustained in training forced the Thai megastar to withdraw from the bout.

As a result, Carrillo will now face Nabil Anane for the ONE interim bantamweight Muay Thai world title on the same card, with the winner set to challenge Superlek in a unification showdown at ONE 172 on March 23.
