Boxing star Ryan Garcia may have created a major roadblock in the potential rematch with Devin Haney by rejecting the use of Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) for drug testing. Garcia, who previously faced Haney in 2024, has publicly stated that he will never use VADA again, questioning the integrity of the organization and insinuating that there may be financial incentives tied to its use.
He expressed confusion over why Bill, Devin Haney's father, insists on VADA and argued that it’s strange that only VADA is being pushed as the testing agency. Haney’s team has reportedly already accepted an offer from Turki Alalshikh for a potential fight.
Garcia also claimed that he wouldn’t consider a rematch with Haney unless his rival dropped the lawsuit. Garcia expressed that the legal action was a weak move and stated he’s open to fighting again only if certain conditions are met.

Bill Haney responded to Garcia’s stance, challenging him to make a decision and accept the deal. He took to X and wrote:
"Stop all the lying! You already got the call from Turki so tell the world the truth. We all agreed that the winner wins everything. It’s time to piss or get off the pot... A businessman who came to London hiding behind 10 other shot callers."
Meanwhile, Devin Haney doubled down on his challenge on X, writing:
"Oh, now he a businessman? We got our offer from @Turki_alalshikh already & accepted it. Now it’s time for you to accept & yes you have to start drug testing now. So let’s hear your answer “businessman”

Haney recently became the first boxer to join VADA’s year-round testing program in 2025, committing to 24/7/365 random drug tests until January 2026. The move follows a controversial 2024 loss to Garcia, which was later overturned to a no-contest after his rival tested positive for ostarine.
Shakur Stevenson previews a potential rematch between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia
Shakur Stevenson recently gave his honest assessment of a potential rematch between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Stevenson expressed interest in seeing how Haney rebounds from his traumatic experience after their controversial 2024 fight, where Garcia's win was overturned due to a failed drug test.
While Stevenson acknowledged Haney’s mental strength and undefeated record, he noted that the outcome depends on his recovery and whether he returns to his best form. Previewing the rematch in an interview with Fight Hub TV, Stevenson said:
"I think excited is a like a strong word but I’m interested. I wanna see how he handles that traumatic experience that he went through, and see how he bounces back from it. I know he’s strong mentally so he [Haney] can win for sure but it all depends on how he’s feeling after he gets back. Is he the same fighter? Let’s see we gotta find out."
