Paddy Pimblett is one of the marquee names on next weekend's UFC 304 pay-per-view card. He believes that a win over Bobby Green, followed by four more, could earn him a sought-after crack at the UFC lightweight title.
The Scouser has never lacked in confidence, believing that a championship opportunity is within touching distance if he strings together five wins. For now, though, 'The Baddy' is unranked in the 155-pound division, with his opponent being the No. 15 lightweight in the promotion.
During an interview with New York Post Sports, Pimblett outlined his ambitions and the path he expects to follow following a successful night against Green at UFC 304:
"Well, obviously I fight, like, Bobby Green, then I fight [Renato] Moicano. Moicano's ranked No. 10 at the minute, but then he's fighting Saint Denis, isn't he? So, then, we could end up, win or lose, he could end up going down, but I'd love that. Moicano, then [Beneil] Dariush would be perfect, he's ranked, like, No. 7 or No. 8, and then someone in the top five, know what I mean? And then obviously, go for the belt, if possible."

Paddy Pimblett has had a slow rise in the UFC
While Paddy Pimblett is often regarded as a prospect, he is a 29-year old veteran of 24 professional MMA fights.
Moreover, he has been in the UFC since 2021, having racked up five consecutive wins in the promotion. Despite that he remains unranked, with 'King' marking his first ranked opposition.
Outside of the UFC, Pimblett became an accomplished fighter, having previously captured championship gold in the Cage Warriors featherweight division. He defended that belt once and even fought for the promotion's lightweight title.
