Patricio Pitbull is not happy with PFL and Donn Davis in the wake of the demise of Bellator being made official. The reigning BMMA featherweight champion has not been shy about his distaste for how PFL has handled things with Bellator MMA since the former acquired the latter a bit over a year ago.

Pitbull has asked for his release from the promotion multiple times but now it seems like his future remains even more unclear amid PFL restructuring and the formal termination of Bellator.

Taking to his personal X page to blast the PFL across a series of posts that began with him dismissively calling them a self-called co-leader in MMA and a fighters first organization, Pitbull said,

"[PFL] is cutting a bunch of fighters and forcing others to take pay cuts of up to 70%. No respect for fighter contracts and what they've accomplished... The self-called fighters first organization is also changing its contracts so it's almost impossible for fighters to be free agents and to leave on free agency."

"Also tying down fighters payments for many years and taking away all their leverage... The self-called co-leader in MMA is ghosting some fighters/ managers and leaving them with no answers while the owner makes silly and disrespectful posts on social media."

Patricio Pitbull's case as the Bellator GOAT

For someone who is regarded by many as the most accomplished fighter in promotional history, it would make sense that Patricio Pitbull feels a certain type of way about the inauspicious way that Bellator has folded.

The 37-year-old had close to a 15-year run in the organization with his promotional debut taking place at Bellator 15 in April 2010. Pitbull debuted in the organization as a 12-0 pro and now boasts an overall professional MMA record of 36-7.

It was mentioned that Pitbull is the company's current titleholder at 145 pounds and this is his third reign as the company's featherweight kingpin. The native of Brazil also cemented himself as Bellator's lightweight champion when Pitbull stopped Michael Chandler with strikes at the 61-second mark of their May 2019 bout.

Pitbull also secured significant wins under the Bellator MMA banner against names like Daniel Straus, Pat Curran, Daniel Weichel, Emmanuel Sanchez, Juan Archuleta, AJ McKee, and Jeremy Kennedy to name but a few.
