Delivering strikes to Petchtanong is none other than ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn. The next time fans will see Superbon inside the Circle is at ONE on Prime Video 5 when ONE Championship heads back to the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. He will face ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Chingiz Allazov.

Before that, Superbon will continue to assist Petchtanong Petchfergus in his preparations to take on dangerous Japanese striker Hiroki Akimoto, who will look to retain the world title and keep his five-fight win streak alive.

Hiroki Akimoto ready for his first world title defense against Petchtanong Petchfergus

Hiroki Akimoto’s fifth straight victory inside the Circle was by far his biggest, defeating Capitan Petchyindee in a fight-of-the-year candidate to capture the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship.

Heading into his first title defense, Akimoto sat down with Beyond Kick to discuss his upcoming matchup with No. 3 ranked contender Petchtanong Petchfergus. While Akimoto has no specific game plan heading into the ONE 163 contest, he is focused on facing a southpaw challenger in Petchtanong.

"I don’t have any special strategies in mind. But as I’ve been practicing for orthodox opponents for a long time, this time I’ve shifted my training to be ready to approach a southpaw. You’ll see what I have prepared for in the fight."

Sharing more details on his preparations for the world title showdown, Akimoto said:

"I did a very tough training with my coach everyday. Three times a week. We did a special training. In the end, it’s all the mental. Kept pushing forward. My coach told me everyday that I will be a champion. This is the day and this is the fruit of my hard work and training. I believe in myself. I believe in my coach. I believe in my teammates. Thank you so much!"
